I have always admired the Japanese music scene for how big it is for such a small land mass. And the fact that you are usually big in Japan before anywhere else. Japan has a big reputation for loving music, there is a huge following for jazzy hip-hop and most of it never gets released over here. So thank the world for the internet. (Note to big brother: If you ever shut the internet down, LOOK OUT!) But yea anyways recently I found out (thanks Pier.org!) there was a following of reggae/rock forming in Japan with new bands and fans alike popping up. So the guys at One Big Family Records were nice enough to reach out and give us the album. On this compilation is artists from Long Beach (Toko Tasi, Phileano, Jack Maness, LBDA) Live@subs from Australia and Japan bands (Seven Beach Dub Taste, Pampas Field Ass Kickers, Sunset Bus). The compilation is very diverse and gives you a taste of whats to come for the Japanese reggae/rock scene. So the next time your in Japan go buy this and say whatup to Satoshi for me! For fans of Toko Tasi, Close Enough, LBDA.
